Drug lord held in Guwahati gold heist

Police claimed to have achieved a major breakthrough in its probe into the GS Road robbery incident where gold ornaments worth Rs 21 crore were looted at gun point in full view of its employees and customers from a Jwellery.

The police team probing the high profile robbery case attested the notorious drug mafia Pakhi Miya from Guwahati on Friday night. He was arrested acting on some specific inputs suggesting his huge role where tmr robbers collected the arms from him.

The Bhangagarh police picked up Pakhi Miya and his close associate Vikram Ete from Paltanbazar and during interrogation the entire breakthrough was believed to gsve surfaced.  With this, the number of persons arrested in this connection had gone up to five.

Hours after the sensational incident, a joint team of Hojai and Guwahati police picked up Premjit Sinha and Neel Kamal Singh from their houses hours after the incident took place in the busy Bhangagarh area in the evening.
