Police officer held on bribery charge

An anti corruption cell on Tuesday arrested a senior police officer on bribery charges suggesting non stop extortion on traders by a circle of police officers.

Identified as Biman Roy, the Boko police station officer in charge was questioned by the vigilance officials in Guwshati before he was arrested acting on the confessional statement of inspector Bokul Chetia who was held on bribery charge a couple of days back.
