A constitutional bench of the Supreme Court set up to look into the petitions on the Assam Accord and citizenship controversy will start hearing from May 8.
A bench of the country's top court on Wednesday asked for supporting documents from the stakeholders by May 1 to examine by the constitutional panel comprising Justice Madan B Lukur, Justice RK Agarwalla, Justice P C Pant, Justice DY Chandra Chud, Justice Ashok Bhushan will hear a few petitions clubbed together.
A number of petitions has been pending before the top court on the vexed issues of infiltration, citizenship and the base year in the Assam Accord.
The court on Thursday is expected to hear another petition to review the progress of the NRC works moved by the Assam Public Works.
