Huge storm lashes Udalguri
Properties worth lakhs of rupees have been ravaged when a huge storm unleashed a reign of terror in Udalguri district disrupting surface communication in many places on Saturday morning.
Accompanied by heavy downpour, the storm hit Tangla, Bhergaon, Dimakuchi, Totlapara, Dharamjuli, Nashanshali, Borengajuli in the morning which continued for around half an hour.
Many houses collapsed and many trees, electric and telephone posts were uprooted to block the vital roads. No casulaty is reported. But it would take time to restore the surface communication network.

Shock and sensation gripped Dimakuchi after a local boy went missing from a picnic spot on Sunday. Police and SSB jawans have been jointly carrying a search operation since he was declared missing from Bogamati along the Indo-Bhutan border as he along his friends were on a visit. One Nareshwar Boro (45) was found dead in a paddy field in Nonaikhas in Dimakuchi on ednesday. Boro took his cows to the field for grazing in the morning. The electric fence was electrified by his neighbor one Rana Magar to protect crops from the wild jumbos. Later police officials went into the site and sent the body for postmortem.
