A Hill trekking competition was organized in connection with ongoing 5th Baukhungri festival at Harinaguri in Kokrajhar district on its second day along the Baukhungri Hill.
Nearly 200 participants from different states which includes Punjab, Jharkhand, West Bengal,Oddisha and different districts of Assam are participated in the trekking . The trekking competitions has included crossed of 8 kilometers from starting point.
Rajen Singh, SP Kokrajhar, Rajib Brahma, BTC executive members flagged off the trekking at Harinaguri ground in the presence of huge gathering in the morning. The competition was organized for both male and female category.
Brahma said that the trekking competition is gathering good response across the country as huge participants took part in the trekking. The winner in the trekking would be awarded cash one lakh each in both male and female category.
An awareness on education and felicitation function was also organised among students those who are appearing in several competitive examinations like UPSC, IIT, IIM, PhD.
Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary graced as chief guest on the occasion. He said that the educational programme for bringing quality education among students is very must needed.
Kampa Borgoyary, BTC deputy chief has his best wishes to the students who are appearing in several competitive examinations.
'BTC administration has been extending financial assistance for the students who are preparing to participate in the competitive examinations', Borgoyary said.
Rajib Brahma, Mrityunjay Narzary, BTC executive members were prominent attendees on the occasion.
The festival venue saw huge throng of the visitors that has been witnessing different programmes like indigenous games,cock fighting, culturals. Indigenous food stalls has been attracting good taste with festivity moments that are giving healthy integration.
