Boro somaj convention at Bashbari
The 12th annual convention of the Kokrajhar district unit of Boro Somaj was concluded at Bishmuri Bashbari ME school ground with two day programme scheduled today in Kokrajhar district. Bibekananda Narzary, president of the district hoisted somaj flag early morning today followed floral tribute to martyrs by Mahat Chandra Basumatary, social activist. Huge delegate and and observers from 13 primary committees are participated the convention.
Narzary told that the Somaj discussed on various issues of social uplift of Bodo society, which included educational environment, check to stop used of wine, jua among society. He said that the somaj is taking serious measures to bring healthy society in the region.
BTC executive member Rajib Brahma, Lawrence Islary, ABSU general secretary, Udangshri Bogoyary, president Kokrajhar district unit ABWWF were graced as guests on the open session held with Bibekananda Narzary in the chair.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
