The ruling Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) party organised a peace meeting involving AASU,Bengali Youth Students Federation,senior citizens at PWD Guest House on Wednesday to create peace and tranquility among society in Kokrajhar district.
The meeting discussed about maintaining peace and harmony among all sections of communities in the region,which was chaired by Doneswar Goyary,BTC executive member. AASU delegation led by Nabajyoti Roy,assistant general secretary,AASU,members from BYSF,Banga Sahitya Sammelan,senior citoizens from different communities also took part in the meeting and urged for restoration of peace and harmony in the region.The meeting condemned the Silapathar violence that created sensation in the state since few days.
Senior citizens also expresses serious concern over recent Silapathar incident termed that it was penetrated by some anti-social activists.They(culprits) must be arrested and punished as per law.They condemned the violence at Silapathar in Dhemaji district.
BTC executive members Doneswar Goyary,Rajib Brahma condemned the incident and urged all section of society to maintain paece and unity across the state.
‘The meeting discussed on the prevailing situation of the state and appeal for maintaining peace environment’,they said.
Nabajyoti Roy,AASU leader said that the Silapathar incident was condemnable and main culprits be nabbed as soon as possible without any delay.He has demanded strict identification of illegal immigrants who were come in the state after 1971.
