After Manoranjana Sinh yet another chit fund scam accused procured bail. He is Sadananda Gogoi whom the Calcutta High Court granted bail after languishing in the central jail for more than 800 days.
Hearing the bail plea on Thursday, a division bench of the court rejected CBI’s submission that Gogoi’s bail would hamper investigation.
The court, however, asked the accused not to leave Kolkata and to appear before the investigation office once in every month. He was the first accused in the scam to be arrested by CBI after the country’s premier investigation agency took up the probe.
The court last week granted bail to Manoranjana Sinh who was arrested in 2015. Now only former Union minister Matang Sinh is waiting for bail.
