Dimakuchi ABSU observed Martyr’s Day
The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and Bodo community of Dimakuchi recalled martyr and ABSU co-worker Debnath Basumatary on his 26th death anniversary at his martyr tomb at Paschimpatala village under Dimakuchi region of Udalguri district on 7 February.
Martyr Debnath Basumatary died on February 7(1991) by an unidentified miscreant firing. Manswma Basumatarypaid floral tribute to Debnath at martyr tomb on his martyr’s day. The martyr’s day was organized by Dimakuchi Anchalik Committee, ABSU in the presence of and ABSU leaders Praneshwar Narzary president Dimakuchi unit ABSU hoisted half union flag and observed one minute silence condolence to mark the occasion. BTC Deputy Speaker Nerswn Boro attended the function and paid floral tribute to Debnath. Nerswn said that Debnath Basumatary was a good leader and we must remember him.

Shock and sensation gripped Dimakuchi after a local boy went missing from a picnic spot on Sunday. Police and SSB jawans have been jointly carrying a search operation since he was declared missing from Bogamati along the Indo-Bhutan border as he along his friends were on a visit. His friends who accompanied Niranjan Rajbanshi said that despite stiff resistance, the son of Keshav Rajbanshi started climbing up the hilly terrain bordering Bhutan and did not return.
One Nareshwar Boro (45) was found dead in a paddy field in Nonaikhas in Dimakuchi on ednesday. Boro took his cows to the field for grazing in the morning. The electric fence was electrified by his neighbor one Rana Magar to protect crops from the wild jumbos. Later police officials went into the site and sent the body for postmortem.
