Homeministry’s confusion over the move to deport 3 Hindu Bangladeshi immigrants draws no less flak from Congress and AGP leaders.
Talking to Assam Talks in Guwahati, a senior Congressleader who refused to be named said that the NDA Government is not at all interested to deport the Hindu immigrants even before the amendment of the Citizenship Act. “Herein slips the musk of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who asked these immigrants to packl their bags and baggage two years back before coming to power. Now the same Modi rolls out red carpets for the immigrants on the basis of religion.”
He said that the party will not keep silent. “We will vehemently protest the move. If Congress kept in mind the vote bank politics what Modi and his party are doing?,” said the senior leader.
AGP leaders are also dead opposed to the home ministry’s delaying tactic to deport the 3 Hindu immigrants out of 14 other Muslim Bangladeshi nationals. “We will oppose it tooth and nail. The Citizenship Act, 1955 has yet to be amended and how the home ministry can delay the clearance to deport the immigrants,” said a senior party leader in New Delhi.
Notably, the home ministry is believed to have been caught in an utter confusion when the Karimganj district authorities were preparing to deport 17 Bangladeshi immigrants out of whom 3 are Hindus.
