Hayat Hospital conducts GPC clinic

Physicians from the city based Hayat Hospital conducted the Saturday evening OPD at Guwahati Press Club (GPC) on 7 January. Dr Anjan Saikia (Gastroenterology), Dr Daboo Patowari (Internal Medicine) and Dr Abhisek Lohia (Dermatology) offered free consultations after checking their blood pressure & sugar. Over 35 participants joined in the evening clinic.

Hayat Hospital has also announced various concessions in treatment for press club members along with their families. Paragjyoti Dutta, assistant general manager of the hospital informed that they would get special discount on OPD/Doctor Consultation Charges (100%), Room Rent (25%), Lab Investigation (20%), CT/USG/X-Ray (20%), MRI/MR Angiography (20%), EEG, ECG,TMT, HOLTER, ECHO (20%), Colonoscopy & Endoscopy (20%), Operation Theatre Charges (10%) and Medicine (5%).

Next GPC evening clinic will be conducted by Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya Guwahati on 21 January. The eye camp at press club premises will begin at 4 pm and continue till 6 pm. The 14 January camp has been cancelled due to Magh Bihu celebrations.

Till date, practicing physicians from Dispur Hospitals, Down Town Hospitals, GNRC Group of Hospitals, Narayana Super-Specialty Hospitals, Swagat Super-Surgical Institute, Wintrobe Hospital, Nemcare Hospital, Sun Valley Hospital, Sight First eye-clinic, Government Ayurvedic College, Barthakur Clinic, Apollo Hospitals Chennai etc had conducted weekly camps.

Similarly, Medanta-The Medicity Hospital Gurgaon, Gauhati Medical College, GMC Panbazar campus, Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad, Rahman Hospital etc have shown interest in conducting the camps titled ‘Evening with a Doctor’ in the coming days.

But the Congress party concentrated only on the Nehru-Gandhi family.He said Sardar Ballav Bhai Patel is never remembered by the Congress. Gopinath Bordoloi is known for his sacrifice. But only the Vajpayee Government gave him the Bharat Ratna award. 

Throw out Cong: Sonowal

BJP state president Sarbananda Sonowal said that his party is the only option left for the people to get rid of the UPA-misgovernance that crippled the entire country.In his welcome address at the huge rally before being addressed by prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Sonowal said that BJP will chance the face of Assam and north east if voted to power.

Modi lands in Guwahati

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has landed Guwahati. The flight carrying the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate from Imphal landed at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at 2 in the afternoon.After being received by MP Bijaya Chakrabartty, he straightly flew to Sarusajai to be received by state unit president Sarbananda Sonowal, MPs Ramen Deka, Bijaya Chakrabartty, Rajen Gohain along with senior leader SS Ahluwaliah who is looking after the entire arrangement.Then he left for Khanapara to address the huge rally at the veterinary Playground.     

Not worried about Modi: CM

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that he had nothing to be worried about Narendra Modi who is holding a huge rally in Guwahati on Saturday.Talking to reporters in Sivasagar in the sidelines of a function, Gogoi said that the huge rally in Khanapara will hardly help BJP woo the voters.He said that the people are aware of the country’s political scenario and UPA performance. “Yes, let them hold the huge rally in Guwahati. Let them pull the crowd. But the people will vote us,” said the Chief Minister.

Naked protesters in Dispur

A KMSS-sponsored protest against the alleged horse trading in the recent Rajya Sabha polls touched down a new low when six activists of the organization staged a naked dharna in Dispur on Saturday.But the Dispur policemen guarding the state secretariat detained the protestors on public allegations of nefarious protest that forced hundreds of people on the streets to avoid them.With a banner, the protesters arrived in Dispur nakedly and started staging dharna forcing the people on the GS Road to avoid the spot.The peasant body warned of an intensified protest against horse trading in the Rajya Sabha polls where Congress and its coaltion partner BPF won all the three seats.   

Sea of humanity in Modi rally

Khanapara area in Guwahati breaks out into a sea of humanity where Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is holding a rally on Saturday.The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate is scheduled to land that the Borjhar airport at 1 in the afternoon. Then he would straightly leave for Sarausajai by a helicopter form where he would go to the rally venue at the veterinary playground by car.BJP workers from far flung areas across the state started arriving in the city from Friday afternoon. The state leadership has arranged around 4000 buses to help the activists come to the rally. These are apart from 6000 four wheelers being deployed for transportation purpose.Over 50,000 people have already arrived...

BJP legislator Prasanta Phukan will move the returning officer demanding a confirmation that his voting in the ballot paper was cancelled.Stunned by the criticism inside and outside the party for his alleged negligence, Phukan told reporters on Friday that he would move the returning officer seeking a confirmation.His ballot was believed to have been cancelled for showing it to the agents and observers of all political parties in the absence of his own party agents and observer after casting his vote.
