No end to AIIMS logjam

The logjam over the proposed AIIMS in Assam refuses to die down with the National Green Tribunal on Tuesday directing the authorities not to start on the on grand project at Changsari till a final settlement is reached. Hearing a petition in Kolkota on Tuesday, the court refused to withdraw its earlier instruction to the government not to start construction in Changsari. The interim judgment is much to the delight of the people in Raha who have been vehemently opposing the premier hospital in the outskirt of Guwahati.

The court on November 23 directed suspension of the procedure to set up the Assam AIIMS in Changsari considering the allegations that the area falls under the green belt.
