Security forces are fanning on the highways in Manipur to deal with the violent protestors who torched many vehicles during blockade and counterblockade on Monday.
Policemen along with CRPF jawans have been patrolling on the vital roads to disperse the protestors from early in the morning.
The authority had already instructed police and para military forces to firmly deal with the protestors who blocked the vital roads disrupting the normal surface communication.
Naga protestors on Monday torched many vehicles on the streets in protest against the move to create seven New districts in the restive north eastern state.
Tribal protestors in large number spilled to the highway to block the surface communication opposing the move who turned violent and attacked many drivers and passengers forcing the security forces to step in.
“The situation would go worse if the government refuses to listen to us. Despite repeated request why the Ibobi Singh Government had been disregarding the Naga peace framework and announced seven New district?,” said a tribal protestor.
Another tribal protestor accused the Congress government of downplaying the sentiments of the hills people. “Why the hills people have been treated like second class citizen in an Independent country. The Centre is mum. This is a conspiracy by both Centre and state against the tribal lots,” he said.
The government has deployed more and more security forces to bring the situation under control. But the protestors have made it plain that they would go to any extent if the government refuses to listen to them.
