“The government is least bothered. We are annoyed a lot with frequent power cuts. Does the government has any shame to have hiked the tariff?,” said Porinita Saikia, a housewife in Six Mie areain Guwahati. Rupam Das from Jaya Nagar area in the city told Assam Times that BJP and its government should have thought of what they promised before the polls. “Even they were angry when the erstwhile Congress government hiked the tariff. Nobody can give the people any respite,” said Das who owns a grocery.
