Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) welcomes and support the move of withdrawing the Legal tender status of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000, by the government on. Hailing this demonetization move, FINER cautioned that the necessary follow – up has to be done by the Centre so that there are no lapses in the exercise that aims to curb black money¸ corruption and counterfeit currency, and the benefits outstrip collateral damages which is bound to happen in a decision of this magnitude. Small time traders, mostly in the unorganized sector have been hit by the move, but this is a temporary phase. It is a bold step by the centre but the follow up has to be done.
