Candle light rally in Kokrajhar

A candle lighting rally was organized today at Kokrajhar town while observation of October 30 serial blast day, which had claimed 20 lives in Kokrajhar town during blasts along with three places in the state in 2008. BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Doneswar Goyary, Janamahan Moshahary, chairman, Ex BLT welfare society, Bishnu Narzary, chairman Kokrajhar Municipality Board were prominent attendees among others on the occasion.

Irrespectives of caste, creed and language participated in the occasion and paid floral tribute to the Swahid Bedi at Kokrajhar main bazaar . The day was organised by Citizens of Kokrajhar bazar.Three blasts rocked Kokrajhar on October 30 in 2008, had claimed 20 lives and left nearly 100 injured.

A candle lighting rally was also organized on the day, was started from main bazaar to Vivekananda Path near railway crossing gate.

BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Doneswar Goyary condemned the inhuman penetrated in 2008 which had claimed over 100 across the state. They appealed to all sections of communities to stand against anti social activities while building a healthy society in the state.

Bishnu Narzary, chairman of KMB said that it was a shocked day for the state which had created shocked for human life. We today offered floral tribute those lost their lives in serial blasts on October 30 in 2008.

KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead.
