Cultural rally held in Kokrajhar

Durga Puja celebration got underway in Kokrajhar, heart of BTAD administration along with rest of the state. Over 150 puja mandhap are erected in the district at different places. Kokrajhar main bazaar organized 146th Puja celebration at Bazaar mandhap with worship of Goddess Durga on the occasion.

'We have arranged 146th puja celebration this season with festive fervor, which is the oldest mandhap in the district as well lower Assam region', said an organizer.

A multi cultural rally was organized on the Maha Sasthi day of Durga Puja to mark Golden Jubilee celebration of Subashpalli Durga Mandhap (Ward No.3) in Kokrajhar town today.

The Subashpalli Durga Puja Mandhap celebrates Golden Jubilee this festive season with four day colorful programme scheduled to mark 50 years glorious step of the Durga Puja celebration since 1966 with festive fervor in the district.

Organiser, devotee and publics throng the mandhap since morning today to join hand in the multi cultural rally.

Irespective of caste, creed, language and communities participated with cultural instruments like Kham, flute, Dakk which was started from Puja mandhap to Gaurang River via JD Road, Vivekananda Path and concluded at the same point. Participants, especially girl and women are saw beautiful with traditional attire on the occasion and wished a healthy Durga Puja in the region.

Dakk men hailed from West Bengal presented their best Dakk beat during rally which had created amusement among participant and common citizens.

Kamal Saha, organizer of Golden Jubilee celebration told that a multi cultural rally was carried out on the Maha Sasthi day to gain community integrated and unity among all sections of communities. Participant and citizens expresses their happiness while participating the programme that gathered different communities on the day.

Meanwhile, a beautiful Durga puja mandhap was also erected at the house of BTC executive member Rajib Brahma along JD Road near Indian oil in Kokrajhar town.Devotee and visitors thronged the mandhap to offer worship to Goddess Durga on the occasion.

'It is an arranged to offer prayer and worship to Goddess Durga during Durga Pua . I have been organizing Durga Puja in our house since fifteen years, this year I have arranged with open mandhap', said Jyotika Brahma, organizer of the Puja mandhap.
