Homage to Bhupen Hazarika

The baritone voice of Dr Bhupen Hazarika has struck the minds of the people again when Assam remembered the music maestro on his 90 birth day across the state on Thursday. Public meetings, music and dance competitions are lined up on the occasion.

People thronged in thousands at the Bhupen Hazarika Samadhikhetra from early in the morning who remained in a long queue to pay glowing tribute to the legendary musician and film maker. The Assam Government has made special arrangement to help his fans make floral tribute to Bhupen Hazarika. A day long programme is being organized in the nook and corner of the state to mark the occasion.

We have received the reports of Bhupendra Birth day in Sadiya, Tezpur, Sivasagar, Guwahati, Barpeta, Morigaon, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Goalpara, Dhubri along with many other places.

Assamese fraternity residing in New Delhi and NRC have also celebrated the birth day with a day long programme in the national capital.

Ayush healthcare system to train rural youths

The Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Rural Development have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop skilled manpower for the Ayush healthcare system.
