Chirang Inspector of Schools in association with BTC education department observed the 55th Teachers' Day at Kajalgaon High School to mark the birth anniversary of former President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and noted educationist in Chirang district.Forest and Environment Minister Pramila Rani Brahma graced the occasion as chief guest in presence of MLA Kamalsing Narzary, ADC Dasarath Das, deputy registrar, Bodoland University, Dr. Prahalad Basumatary and former BTC Speaker Paniram Brahma as guests of honour. Expressing her gratitude and respect to the teachers for their selfless and dedicated services, Brahma said that they play a great role in building up the characters of students and sharp them to become ideal citizens of India. Teachers teach students very carefully and sincerely just like their own children and inform about the importance of education in life with the help of their vast experiences and knowledge, she added.
On the occasion, planting saplings was also organized at the premises of Kajalgaon High School.She also called upon all retired teachers to plant at least 20 Agoroo and Chandan saplings at their former work places.
Kamalsing Narzary,MLA hailed the teachers for their selfless and dedicated services in the interest of the society. Outlining the importance of the education, he also said education is the backbone of the society, so without good education no society can be developed. During the programme, 75 retired teachers who rendered their services in imparting quality education and 9 in service best teachers were honoured with certificates of appreciation and mementos with the hands of the guests present.
Earlier, IS Jaypalsing Brahma in his welcome address said about the significance of the Teachers' Day and highlighted the year long various activities taken up by the department with an aim to develop the education scenario in Chirang district.
