Veteran Congress leaders in Assam on Sunday asked the party workers to work with redouble vigour to help the party regain strength in the next Lok Sabha polls.
In his presidential address at the APCC extended executive body meeting in Guwahati, party president Ripun Bora said that the Opposition party in many states have been regaining strength which would help the party bring back to power in 2017 Lok Saba polls.
Addressing the meeting, AICC general secretary Dr CP Joshi who holds the charge of Assam said that the party is still in the minds and hearts of the people even after the debacle.
According to him, 30% vote share suggests that the party is still ahead of BJP where the saffron party along with its allies have an unite vote share of 42.
Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi als addressed the executive meeting which took place for the first time since Ripun Bora took over as the party president.
