Ambush and after: Tension in Zuhenboto

Simmering tension refuses to die down in Zuhenboto district in Nagaland on Saturday a day after NSCN(K) rebels claimed to have killed at least 10 security personnel at an ambush. But the authorities has rejected the claim saying that only four sustained injury when the rebels ambushed an army convoy of four vehicles in the evening.

Security forces have been fanning in some selected pockets in search of the rebels who made the third attack on security forces in the past one month. The rebels claimed to have blown four vehicles carrying at least 20 people of whom ten died on the spot. But defence sources in the state confirmed the injury of only 4 army men.

But Nagaland government, as well as defence sources, said four jawans were injured and nobody was killed in the attack.
