Lobbying in Delhi for cabinet berths

Amid hectic lobbying in New Delhi for ministerial berth, Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal is preparing to expand his cabinet in a day or two.

Sonowal is believed to have prepared a list. But it has yet to be approved by the party high command.

Sources told Assam Times that Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has been trying to ensure berth for his own men. But many senior BJP and RSS leaders in Guwahati are dead opposed to Dr Sarma’s move.

Sonowal, who is in Delhi to attend the BJP Chief Ministers’ Conference is expected to get this list approved by Saturday.

On the other hand, many senior party legislators have been camping in the capital city to do lobby for ministerial berth.

AGP and BPF legislators are believed to have been picked up Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma who can ensure ministerial berth for them.
