Forest dept to evict illegal encrochers

Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma has vowed that eviction would be carried out against illegally encroached along the forest land in the state including Saralpara,Ultapani forest areas in Kokrajhar district.

Minister Brahma participated at a plant sapling programme at Saralpara No.10 ride along the Indo-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. She planted an Agroo sapling in the presence of AK Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest(PCCF) and forest officials to make green nature and balance in natural beauty in the region,which was organized by Bodoland Students Union,Kokrajhar district unit.

Brahma expressing concern over destruction of forest wealth and wildlife across the state said that it was unfortunate matter for the state because forest resources have been met destroyed. She has emphasizing forestation in the state said that citizen and forest staff should come forward to conserve forest wealth with stern measure to meet healthy and green forest environment.

Brahma said that eviction would be carried out against illegally encroached along the forest land and for this concern departmental officials were given instruction to take steps. She said that forest department has formed a committee with retired forest official in the chair along with two senior journalist to examine and counting to the preserve rhino horns in the state.

‘I think the committee will report in detail after completion their counting and examine process’, Brahma expresses her hopeful adding said that detail numbers of the preserve rhino horns would be figured in the state.

Brahma slammed Akhil Gogoi,KMSS leader said Gogoi’s remarks on rhino killing was not acceptable because our government reach only in three months since formation government. There were 47 rhinos were killed in previous Congress government,not in our government tenure. Rhino killing including floods in our three months tenure was 36 only,Gogoi’s allegation was baseless and unwanted for the state, Brahma said.

AK Singh,PCCF said tht forest department has been working to conserve forest wealth and wildlife so that natural beauty and conservation could be sustained.

Derhasat Brahma,president of Kokrajhar district unit BSU said that students union involving local publics in the area planted saplings to conserve forest.

‘We would plant saplings at an around 100 hectares of land along Saralpara forest area’, Derhasat said. He has appealed villager and citizens of the area to cooperate in the forestation to meet green and healthy natural resources conservation.
