Peace meeting at Salakati

A peace meeting was organized involving citizen and social organizations at Salakati High School ground to create peace and harmony all sections of communities in greater Salakati area in KOkrajhar district on Saturday.

Citizens cutting across communities, intellectual, leaders from social organization and students unions like ABSU,ABMSU,AKRSU,ABYSF,RMC participated in the meeting, which was organized by VDP under Salakati police outpost in association with local publics with Abdul Barek, adviser of VDP in the chair.

Mentioned be made that meeting was organized after an youth Ajijul Haque,who was kidnapped and murdered by miscreants. Haque was kidnapped on June 30 last and his body was recovered recently from Jeetpur area of Bishmuri.

Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner attending the meeting said that district administration has been working to check anti-social activities besides taking stern steps to restore peace and unity. District administration will provide necessary measures for victims’ family as per government norms, he added.

Shymal Prasad Saikia,SP said culprits involved with kidnapped and murder are arrested under strict vigil of the security. Police has been checking with stern measure to check anti-social activities in the district. He has appealed to maintain peace and harmony in the region.

Lafikul Islam Ahmed,president of ABMSU urged the district administration to take stern action against anti-social incidents which were penetrated by miscreants in the region.
