Kokrajhar ready for I-Day

Kokrajhar is all set to celebrate 70th Independence Day on Monday with befitting programme scheduled at Govt HS & MP school ground in Kokrajhar, heart of BTAD administration for which students from different school and police contingents  have also completes their parade rehearsals to showcase on the celebration.

A total of 22 march past contingents, including 18 students contingents from schools of the district and police battalion jawans will show case their march-past and parades on the occasion.

Madhav Prasad Sarma, Deputy Commissioner told that district administration has so far completed all kinds of preparation to celebrate the Independence Day along with rest of the state. BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary will grace as chief guest on the occasion,Sarma said.

 District administration clamped 144 Cr PC in the district besides making vigil security arrangements with checking in all vehicular movement in the region. He also told that district administration has also kept closed eyes along the Indo-Bhutan border areas so that untoward incidents could be avoided.

‘District administration has fully prepared to celebrate national occasion with day long programme scheduled in the district’,Sarma  added.

Shreejith T, Additional Superintendent of Police said that police administration received around 350 jawan forces from Assam Police headquarters to maintain law and order situation during Independence Day celebration on Monday. Police have fully prepared our preparations along deployment of security forces in the entire district. We do hope national celebration would be passed off peacefully with huge mass participation in Kokrajhar, said Shreejith.

‘We already received 350 security forces jawans from Assam Police headquarters to maintain law and order just after Balajan Tinali firing incident in the district. Security forces jawans have also been deployed in all corners of the district so that national celebration be come out successfully in peaceful manner’,he added.
