Public rally at Tezpur against terrorism

A public rally was organized today protesting against increment of terrorist activities in Assam in aegis of All Assam Gorkha Students' Union in the streets of Tezpur the district headquarter of Sonitpur .Central AAGSU delegation including Chief advisor H B Chetri, President D B Limboo, AGS Rajen Thakuri and others also addressed and rallied along with other activists. Recent terrorist activities particularly in Sonitpur has arouse an instable state of mind amongst the common mass in the district in the wake of Independence Day. Various terrorist outfits of the sate has involved in widespread extortion and threat activities in the district. A memorandum was submitted the Chief Minister of the state through the deputy commissioner Sonitpur urging government to take immediate policies to curb terrorist activities in the district at large in the state. Though it was working day women, children and students as well as aged person joined the protest rally. For a short while at the DC office premises AAGSU President D B Limbu addressed the crowd and the media persons assembled there. Talking to this correspondent a local resident thanked the AAGSU for their initiative of organizing such a public rally against terrorism.

Terrorism has become a great hindrance for the economic development as well as for the global society. I request the terrorist groups to stop killing the innocent people, and just fear of the almighty and have mercy on the innocent people. I am a common man and I urge all the people of Assam that be calm and have patience in these grave period.Let us pray to god that peace might again restore in Assam.....Jai Hind
