Guwahati Court summons Rahul

A local court in Guwahati on Saturday issued  summon to Rahul Gandhi to appear before it on September 29 in connection with a defamation case pending against the Congress vice president.

Acting on a criminal defamation case filed by a RSS member, the Kamrup Metropolitan Court has asked Gandhi to appear before the court where the petitioner has alleged that the Congress top leader, in a rally in Guwahati a couple of months back, accused RSS of killing Mahatma Gandhi.

It assumed significance hardly after a month Gandhi refused to tender apology before RSS even after the Supreme Court asked him to do so. He instead said that there is no question of apologising or expressing regret.
