The Assam Assembly has begun its budget session amid a stormy note on Monday forcing a brief adjournment of the proceedings in the morning.
When the House assembled the Opposition Congress and AIUDF members demanded suspension of the House proceedings to discuss the move to auction 12 marginal oil fields in view of the widespread protest.
The ruling party members came out in support of the move and urged the Speaker not listen to the demand.
A section of Opposition legislators rushed to the Speaker to mount pressure on him to listen to them forcing Ranjit Das to adjourn the House for 5 minute. Same uproar took place when the House reassembled.

Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will table the budget for 1916-17 on July 25.
