Squad named for Tong-IL-Moo-Do Federation Cup declared

A 24 member team along with three officials’ squad have been named from Bodoland Tong-IL Moo-Do Association to participate in the 2nd Tong-IL-Moo-Do Federation Cup 2016 to be held from July 30 next at Nehru Stadium,Margao in Goa.

Participants from Bodoland taking part in several category’s competition in the cup,included senior, junior,sub junior.The cup has been organised by Goa Tong-IL-Moo-Do Association with to-day programme scheduled on July 30 and Agust 1 next.

A felicitation programme cum interaction session with participants was organised on Wednesday at Bodoland Taekwondo Association ground with Sewli Mohilary,president of the association in the chair and partcipants were felicitated with jersy on the occasion.

Jutika Brahma,secretary of the association said that Bodoland’s participants are participating the federation cup,being organising in Goa for the first time ever.She said altogether twenty one players are participating the competition where they will perform their best performance in the competition. Jajnabati Basumatary,BTC CHD for Sports & Youth welfare was also present on the occasion. The squad includes-Sanjay Narzary,Mukul Basumatary,Arbinda Basumatary,Akash Kohli,Surojit Roy,Sandeep Kalita,Bikram Basumatary,Jwngsar Brahma,Chandrakanta roy,Habul Hembrom,Sirbash Barman,Mangal Kisku,Amit barmna,Mahibul Alam,Durga Mandal,Ratna Ray,Janali Brahma,Bapen Ray,Nabajyoti ray,Minbahadur Chetry,Diptansu Dey;Biswajit Roy(coach),Bilu Kumar Brahma(team manager) and Ashok Barman(official).

KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. The smuggled Ganja was bound for Bihar from Agartala in a Scorpio vehicle, bearing registration no.BR 11V-7551.
BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. The bail was granted by Kokrajhar's chief judicial magistrate.

KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead.
