Bandh call hits Nazira

The 12 hour bandh call in protest against the move to auction 12 oil fields heavily hit normal life in Nazira on Tuesday.

Called by the Tai Ahom Youva Parishad, the bandh got total response in the entire Nazira sub division where schools and colleges, banks and other public and private institutions remained closed. Many picketers enforced the bandh by burning tyres on the roads apart from shouting slogans against the central and state governments.
