Two arrested, ganja seized
Police arrested two Ganja smugglers along with seized of Ganja from Duturi area under Bijni PS in Chirang district late last night.
According to police, the smugglers were arrested along with Ganja weighing of 19.500kgs while coming on a Maruti Car (800) Registration No. AS 19-8549 from Koilamoila bound for Bijni. Police seized the Ganja and arrested smugglers, were identified as Altaf Ali and Sahidul Islam, who were involved with smuggling Ganja since few years in the region.

Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district.
All together 95 teams of across the state participated in a championship that saw a healthy sporting environment in the region which was organised by Kokrajhar District Badminton Association (KDBA).

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Dilip Mushahary (40), Rayanti Basumatary (40) and Mangkeswar Basumatary (45).
