At least nine women were apprehended by female constable of SSB of 16th battalion(Bn) for involved in the smuggling who were trying to evade the international border,besides seized illicit Bhutanese liquor of Rs 19,665 from Dadgiri and Dholkola in Chirang district on Monday.
The women were apprehended during the quick reaction team of SSB after getting input that illicit business of Bhutanese liquor is flourishing in the nearby Indian villages of Indo-Bhutan border and smugglers are taking full advantages of open and porous international border with Bhutan. 16th Bn SSB, on Monday took a prompt action against liquor smugglers and caught them with red handed.
