A total of 22 trainees were given away computer training certificate at a function held at District Computer Centre in Kokrajhar on Friday. A month long free computer training to the youths belong to Indo-Bhutan border villages of Kokrajhar and Chirang district, was spobsored by 16th Battalion SSB, Ranighuli, Kokrajhar under CAP (NE) 2015-16, was concluded on April 25, which started from March 26.

Madhav Prasad Sarma, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar graced as chief guest on the closing function. Sarma, in his speech lauded the initiative taken from SSB to bring awareness of computer education among border students at free of cost. He has urged trainees to be dedicated while bringing educational life in days to coming.

'We must have knowledge of computer literary and educational integration among society. The students are getting benefits of educational environment through the noble venture of the computer training', Sarma said. Amit Kumar, DIG,sector headquarter in Kokrajhar expressing his hopefully of that the student trainees would be benefitted through this noble venture to the building of educational integration. AKC Singh, Commandant, 16th Bn SSB was also attended on the closing function.

Two injured in mishap

Kokrajhar, June 6: Two persons were seriously in a road mishap at Kajalgaon in Chirang district today. Witnesses said father-son duo identified as Sobin Basumatary and his son Ringsar were on way to UN Brahma College at Kajalgaon from Bijni in a bike bearing Registration No. AS-26 -0647 when a speeding Tata Sumo vehicle (AS-26-C-1027) hit them inuring both seriously. Rabiram Basumatary memorial Kokrajhar District Sports Association(KDSA) Soccer Super League 2016 has been kicked off here at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar on Sunday. In the inaugural match of the soccer league Jothai Sports Club,Gendrabil beat Rising Sports Club,Haltugaon Tinali 2-1 goals. Security forces belonging to police and army apprehended a cadre of NDFB(S) from northern part of Chirang district on Friday night. He was identified as Sobhaigo Mushahary,was active while working for the outfits’ activities along Kokrajhar and Chirang district border areas. A pistol, two round bullets were recovered from him.

Students felicitated

Laimwn Swrang Foraishali, Banargaon a private Bodo medium school felicitated HSLC passed out students at a programme at school complex today in Kokrajhar district.  A total of 21 students out of appeared 22 passed with 14 in first and 7 in second division along with six star marks scoring 95.45 % pass percent in the final examination. UN Academy shines in HSSLC

Two students from Upendra National (UN) Academy, Kokrajhar scripted highest marks in History and Bodo subject in today’s declared HS results, besides the Academy scored 100% pass percentage both in Arts and Science stream while Science College, Kokrajhar also scored 98.33% pass percentage in the HS final examination. Four KLO ultras held

Security forces belonging to police and army jointly conducted search operation and apprehended four cadres of Kamatapur Liberation Organisation(KLO) from Kaliphukri area under Kokrajhar PS on Tuesday in Kokrajhar district.They were identified as Mridul Roy alias Surjo Koch, Kokrajhar district area commander, Dhananjoy Roy alais Dhorka,depuy area commander,both 38th batch Myanmar trained,Kanak Roy and Konujeet Roy,locally trained cadre.Four pistols, three hand grenades,several live round and incriminating documents were recovered from them.
