Senior journalist Bidhayak Das, who is presently based in Yangon, will deliver a talk on the changing political scenario of Myanmar on Thursday (21 April 2016) at Guwahati Press Club (program starting at 3 pm).
Das will highlight the overall change of the neighboring country after the general election held last year which politically empowered National League for Democracy chief Daw Aung San Suu Kyi after the landslide victory. Myanmar was ruled by military generals for decades. He will also explore the possibility of benefits for the people of northeast India with more contacts with the Myanmarese populace, particularly the northern part of the southeast Asian nation.
Member-journalists of Guwahati Press Club are requested to attend the interactive program.
