Tai Khampti's revised Tonal Script unveiled

The Tai Khampti Revised Tonal Script was unveiled at a function organsied at Chongkham, Kongmu Kham, the Golden Pagoda in the Namsai District. Arunachal Pradesh  Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, HMLA & PS Chow Tewa Mein alongwith a huge gathering of the Tai Khampti elites, Officers, Public leaders, GBs and senior citizens, NGOs and the youth groups witnessed the event.

Earlier, Chairman of the Tai Literature Committee C.I Mannou, , under the aegis of the Tai Khampti Singpho Council, had explained and highlighted about the four year long hard work done by the committee and the significance of the improved version of the scripts which would cater the present need at par with the other languages.

It is pertinent to state that the Chowna Mein, HDCM had been keen in this regard and is instrumental to the venture which bore fruit today with the unveiling and unanimous acceptance of it by the august gathering. He had, earlier, sent delegates of literature committee to Thailand and Burma under the leadership of Ven. Vimalatissa, Abbott of Kongmu Kham to have a consultative study of international Tai Literature.

In his presidential speech, Chowna Mein, HDCM congratulated the Tai Khampti Singpho Council, especially the Literature Committee for this hard but noble work. He said, it is a historic occasion for the Tai Khampti people and urged the gathering to learn and impart the knowledge to all, young and old. He opined and assured the gathering to take up the matter with the Government for inclusion in the school curriculum in near future. This would provide job opportunity to the local people and solve unemployment problem to a great extend.

Responding to the memorandum submitted  by CM Mongmaw, General Secretary, TKSC, the HDCM had extended a financial assistance of Rs.5 lakhs to TKSC, besides assuring to look into the other point of the memorandum which is for permanent site and office building of the apex body.

The public health engineering & water supply department is bracing up for a grim financial crisis. An astronomical amount of money has yet to be realized from the central and state government offices in the division. The department has missed the revenue target because of the unrealized amount.The entire situation has forced the deputy commissioner to step in. Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak has asked all departments to clear the pending bills to avoid penalty charges.
