An education awareness programme was organised at Borengajuli Santipur village of Udalguri district on Sunday. The programme was organised by Pherengadao NGO and presided by village headmen Ragen Basumatari. Social worker Atul Boro highlighted erratic electrical power supply in the village.
Children of this remote village, inhabited mostly by tea tribe community, avoid going to schools. Most women in teh village lack formal education. The organsiation has decided to setup a non-formal education centre in the village.
