Candidates from different parties files nomination

The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday.

Brahma, was accompanied by senior party leader Rabiram Ujir,leaders from alliance partnar Congress party Ashok Kumar Borgoyary.

A grand procession was organised from Kokrajhar anchalik office to DC office via flyover where thousands of party supporters both from UPP and Congress thronged and shouted slogans in supports of UPP candidates claiming winning of the candidates who are contesting from constituencies in the scheduled April 11 election.

Pratibha Brahma,UPP nominee after filling nomination told that she was hopeful of winning the LAC as irrespective of caste,creed and communities are supporting her candidature.

‘Citizens of the constituncy are wanting good governance and social integration among society,so this time they would vote for the UPP party to meet healthy peace and unity’, Brahma said. She has also claimed that her winning from constituency is sure,no doubt.

The candidates,who have filed their nominations on Monday are Manu Borgoyary,AIUDF and Basanta Medhi(Independent). Rajesh Narzary,Independent filed his nomination on Saturday.Till Monday, five candidates filed nominations to contest in the Kokrajhar east LAC.

Manu Borgoyary,AIUDF candidate said that he has been contesting the election in support of his UPP party and welfare fare from common voters.He said that the society should be needed balance political arena and equal distribution.

Former Rajya Sabha MP and UPP president Urkhao Gwra Brahma filed his nomination paper to the Returning Officer for Kokrajhar west LAC at Gossaigaon Sub-dision(civil) on Monday having a grand procession.

Brahma after filling nomination said that his winning from the constituency is sure.He also said that his party is winning in 7-8 seats in the scheduled election.Dahit Chandra Brahma,AIUDF candidate also filed nomination for Kokrajhar west LAC.Somnath Narzary,UPP candidate for Gossaigaon LAC filed his nomination.

Two candidates have filed their nominations from 31 Sidli ( ST) LAC for upcoming Assembly election in Chirang district. The candidates who filed today their nomiations are Rwngwra Narzary of United People's Party (UPP),Dilip Kr. Sarania, Independent backed by Sanmilita Janagostiyo Aikya Manch.

While in Bijni LAC,  4 candidates- Santosh Kaklary (UPP), Khalilur Rahman (Ind),Gajendra Barman CPI(M), and Ajay Kumar Barman(Ind) have filed their nominations. With these, 5 candidates have filed nomination papers at Bijni LAC as the sitting MLA Kamalsing Narzary had filed his nomination paper earlier.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Basumatary is likely to join ruling BPF party within couple of days, said a close aid of Binati. 
Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja   of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return. Two pistols along with 4 live rounds, a hand grenade and three mobile phones were recovered from them. Mohit Misahary is a cadre of 39 Batch NDFB and trained in Myanmar.
The party leader and workers of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) of Kokrajhar east (No.30) constituency  committee urged the central committee to declare Manu Borgoyary’s  name as candidate in immediate to pave way party working in the constituency to contest scheduled second phase assembly election on April 11 next.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. They were identified Sanjib Basumatary, Mirga Basumatary and Charan Basumatary. Over 15 shops along the Fakiragram main Bazar in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district have turned into ashes.  The fire damaged worth of nearly 50 lakhs properties following fire in gutted on Friday late night. Various types of shops in the bazar which included medical store,hardware,clothes,grocery,stationary,fruits were completely burnt in the fire that started around 12.45 am in the last night. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. He was identified as Tamizaddin Anza ri (32) of Mozabari area. He was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital and stated to be critical. Details is awaited. 
Salakati police in Kokrajhar district arrested a vehicular thief late last night at Salakati rail track.  He was identified as Naba Das of Belsar in Nalbari district, who was involved with stealing of a four wheeler Mahindra pick up van bearing registration AS-16C-2207. An FIR was registered no.138/16 with Salakati police outpost in this connection, under section (u/s) 457/380/411 IPC. 
In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district.
