A trial cum selection camp for 61st National School Games of Kickboxing U- 17 and U-19 (both boys and girls) was held on Tuesday at Iragdao community hall in Kokrajhar, was organized by the District Sports Officer Kokrajhar in association with Kickboxing Association of Bodoland Terretorial Council..
Jagyabati Basumatary,DSO Kokrajhar inaugurated the selection camp where hundreds of participants participated from various districts including BTAD four districts Kamrup Rural, Guwahati, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivsagar, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri and Kokrajhar.
She said that the higher authority of the sports department directed to organize the trial and selection camp for 61st National School Games Kickboxing under 17 and 19 both boys and girls which would be held at Delhi from 6 to 9 January ,2016.
A total of 34 participants both boys and girls category from the state would be selected and they are getting in the national event, She mentioned that the Assam as well as BTAD has a potential of kickboxing participants where over hundred participants participated with strengths. There is lots of good player in Bodoland, but due to lack of scopes they could not participate in the National Games or international Games in many occasions, she added.
