Thousands of activists from various region of the country, who are demanding separate states under Article 2 and 3 of the Indian constitution including Bodoland, Bhundelkhand,Gorkhaland, Dimaraji, Karbiland etc participated in the mass dharna programme at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday.
The agitators shouted slogans demanding early creations of new states across the country through forming Reorganization of States of India and meet a healthy and good governance in the country.
The federation has been pressing the centre to create new states as BJP had promised to implement long standing demand of Bodoland issues in Assam during the election manifesto in 2014 parliamentary election in Assam.
Promod Boro, ABSU president, Raja Bundella, president of NFNS, Munich Tamang, general secretary of NFNS, Dhiren Boro, president of NDFB-P were prominent speakers among others on the day.
