Cong lashes out at BJP

After allowing two autonomous councils to go out of their hands Congress accused BJP of resorting to horse trading. Congress president Anjan Dutta told reporters in Guwahati on Saturday that the four executive members of the Dima Hasao autonomous council have left the party not going by the peoples’ wish. “They did it only money and power. I say it is unfortunate,” said Dutta.

Later senior Congress leader Ripun Bora said, “BJP is teaming with former militants which talks of high morality.” The ruling Congress is set to lose the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council. BJP moved the Assam governor PB Acharya staking claims to form the council saying that they have numbers.
