Centre must face consequences

The Assam movement martyrs’ family members and Assam Agitation leaders on Tuesday have solemnly pledged to fight the Centre’s move to roll red carpets for the non Muslim Bangladeshi refugees.

Speakers after speakers at a meeting in Guwahati said that the NDA governments move will make the entire Assam Accord on a sheet of irrelevant papers. They said warned the Centre of dire consequences if it proceeds with the deal. Former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta said that if need be they would launch yet another massive agitation across the country.

Elder brother of first Assam Agitation martyre Khargeswar Talukdar was prominent among those who were present in the function.
