East Siang DRDA meets

The East Siang DRDA governing body met presided over by ZPC chairman Kaling Dai and was attended by MP Ninong Ering along with Deputy Commission Isha Khosla, ZPMs, Anchal Samity Chairpersons, BDOs, representative of Banks.

Dai said that DRDA implements various rural development  and poverty alleviation programs like MGNREGA, IAY, IWMP etc to promote social and economic stability among rural masses especially those who are living bellow poverty line.

Khosla said MGNREGA is not only meant for wage-employment but also to enhance living standard of the people and infrastructural development of the society.

MP Ninong Ering said that a proper mindset with positive attitude should be developed. Purchase of materials like CGI sheet etc should be decentralized for more transparency and responsibility.

Project Director, Sibo Passing through power point presentation presented block wise detail reports of various ongoing projects/schemes and their fund position and present status.

All the ZPMs were of the view that there should be more transparency and responsibility. The physical & financial position of schemes has to be updated to them.

Trees getting uprooted and falling on electrical lines, resulting in hours of power outage is a common phenomenon during monsoon. Normal power supply remains heavily interrupted on the Pasighat-Pangin power line after a huge tree fell on a powerful a electric wire on Monday. Engineers along with departmental staffs have already been pressed into restoration process. It would take two days or more to reconnect the network.
