Manipur students support Assam stir

A prominent student organization from Manipur has confirmed their support to the proposed massive agitation in Assam against the Centre’s decision to allow Bangladeshi and Pakistani refugees to stay in India as refugees which will force Assam to bear an extra burden of more than 20 lakh outsiders.

Talking to Assam Talks, the leaders of the Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur said that they would extend all support to the people of Assam in the massive agitation against the Centre’s move. DSAM also supported the recent 12-hour Assam bandh.

DSAM leaders observed that the refugee move would disrupt the demography in the entire north eastern region. They said that the indigenous people of the north east should unitedly go all out against the Centre. “Mount pressure on the centre to withdraw the decision. Never give the Centre any chance,” said the student leaders.
