Dr Arati Barua from Assam, an Associate Professor in Philosophy in Deshbandhu College, Delhi University and the Director of Indian division of the Schopenhauer Society (IDSS) is being conferred with the prestigious “Bharat Jyoti Award” (Glory of India) by India International Friendship Society (IIFS) during a conference on “Economic Growth and National Integration” which was held at IIC, New Delhi on August 29. The award was presented by former election commissioner G V G Krishnamurthy.
The award is presented in honour of extra-ordinary contribution and meritorious performance to eminent Politicians, social Workers, educationists, industrialists, and sports persons for their contribution towards the society in their field of endeavours.
The Minister for Rural Development, Abdul Haq Member Parliament and former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K, Muzaffar Hussain Beig and former Finance Minister of Jammu-Kashmir, A R Rather are among few who have also been conferred this prestigious award.
