Why Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is in a haste to join BJP? Political observers are straight in their comments. He is believed to have unofficially joined BJP in the face of two huge scams that put him in dire straights.
Very recently, BJP parliamentary board called him the key suspect in the Louis Berger scam only a month back. A CID enquiry is in progress which will unearth the real story.
The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the chit fund scam has already grilled Dr Sarma on the basis of the purported letter by Saradha chiefSudipto Sen. CBI has yet to file the charge-sheet.

Now that he joined bjp to save himself for all the scams it will be all the more difficult to prove. He is an opportunist and that's what we don't like. It was bjp who was most vocal about his corruption. Why have they accepted him now? Shouldn't Assam produce more leaders? He already has enough: TV channel, newspaper, guest house, stashed cash and what not. We need honest leaders not tainted. You are spreading the propaganda. Bada aya.

Two persons died when a vegetable boat met with a tragic mishap on the river Brahmaputra in Kamrup district on Sunday.It took place in the afternoon when the boat was on its way from Rani Chapori to Garal. The war of words between Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and his health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma takes an interesting turn on Sunday. KMSS has elected its leader Akhil Gogoi as new president. Gogoi, the founder of the peasant body was elected at its crucial general meeting in Pathsala on Saturday.
