Hundreds of Begali-speaking people in Tinsukia on Saturday boycotted the Independence Day staging demonstration to raise demands to ensure their safety and security. Led by the Benglavashi Yuva Chatra Parishad, the students thronged the town and started demonstration raising a slew of demands including the release of indigenous Bangla-speaking people from the detention camp.
They further demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases members and activists pending against some of their members before the tribunals.
