Govt announces 5 new districts

The Assam government has announced five new districts. The formal announced was made by chief minister Tarun Gogoi in his speech after he unfurled the national triclour at the Veterinary Playground in Khanapara on Saturday morning.

In his address after hoisting the national flag in Guwahati, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi made the formal announcement to bring administration closer to the public.
The five news districts are Biswanath, Charaideo, Hojai, South Salmara-Mankachar and West Karbi Anglong. With this, the number of districts has gone up to 32 from 27.
