Speakers after speakers blamed both Delhi and Dispur for the failure to implement the Assam Accord even 30 years after it was signed.
Participating at an AASU-sponsored seminar on the historic pact in the national capital on Tuesday, the student body adviser Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya said that the principle clauses of the pact remains unimplemented.
“Ït suggests lack of competency and good will of the government both in the state and Centre. No party has shown their sincerity,” said Dr Bhattacharya.
Union home minister Rajnath Singh said that the NDA government will not allow the sacrifice of the 855 people who lost their lives in the 6 year old agitation.
Minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju, sports minister Sarbananda Sonowal were prominent among those who attended the seminar.
