Union home minister Rajnath Singh is attending a seminar in New Delhi on Tuesday on the Assam Accord implementation thirty years after it was signed.
The All Assam Students Union is organizing the national level seminar to take the entire issue to the nation. AASU adviser Dr Samujja Bhattacharya, president Dipankar Nath, Lurinjyoti Gogoi were prominent among those who attended the meeting.
The Accord was signed in 1985 by Rajiv Gandhi, AASU, SAGSP and the state government marking an end to the 6 year long agitation demanding the detection and deportation of the Bangladeshi immigrants.
