Gunmen caught in Narayanpur

Lakhimpur police caught two gunmen after they targeted security forces deployed on Saturday.

The incident took place at Narayanpur where two youths started firing at a group of security forces when they were on patrolling duty in the wee hours.

When the security forces started retaliation, they tried to leave the spot forcing the police men to chase them.  Identified as Cerula Khan and Aswini Patir, they were overpowered. Police recovered a 9 mm pistol from their possession.

 Senior police officials have been interrogating the duo.
